Editorial standards
Snackapalooza is a newsroom. These are the rules the desk actually runs.
What we publish as staff work
A staff story is reported or analyzed by a named editor or reporter, bylined on this site, and based on primary documents, on-the-record comments, or original observation. We do not put a staff byline on a rewritten press release or on another outlet’s reporting.
Wires, press, and link-outs
Press releases are labeled Press release. Government data and filings are labeled Primary source or by series (Filing, Recall, Data). Coverage we did not report is a link-out to the publisher. We do not host a reader view of a competitor’s article.
Corrections
Factual errors are corrected on the story with a dated note. Send corrections to the address on the Contact page. We do not silently rewrite a published staff file.
Advertising and credentials
Advertising and sponsored content, if accepted, will be labeled. Editorial staff do not sell ads. We apply for trade-show media credentials as working journalists covering the convenience and fuel retailing industry, not as publishers or sales staff.
