PepsiCo says 18% of people connect it to brands beyond Pepsi
House of Brands, the company’s Sept. 17 post. More than 500 brands. No door count.
NEW YORK — Sept. 21, 2026 — PepsiCo said Sept. 17 that 18 percent of people associate the company with brands beyond Pepsi. The sentence is in the company’s newsroom post for House of Brands, which PepsiCo called its first corporate brand campaign.
The post says the portfolio is more than 500 brands and reaches consumers more than one billion times a day. The brands named in that piece include Doritos, Cheetos, Lay’s, Gatorade, and Quaker, and newer names: Alvalle, Good Warrior, poppi, Simply NKD, and Pepsi Prebiotic Cola. The joke in the post is a rename — Lay’s-Co, Cheetos-Co, Gatorade-Co, Quaker-Co. The company says it is not changing its name.
What the post does not say
This is the company’s account, not a store call. The post does not say which doors lose a facing, and it does not give a convenience-channel number. A buyer who already sets Lay’s and Pepsi on separate planograms does not need the ad to know they share an owner. The 18 percent figure is PepsiCo’s, from that post.
The useful line for a category meeting is the list, not the joke. Doritos, Cheetos, Lay’s, Gatorade, Quaker, and poppi are already on convenience sets. A campaign that asks a shopper to see them as one company does not change the rebate on the cooler door. It does tell a buyer the supplier wants those brands read as one portfolio.
