Fountain is a labor line. The bottle is not
Dispensed beverage and a cooler door do not share a margin or a waste bucket.
July 16, 2026 — Dispensed beverage is a different business from the cooler door next to it. The cup needs labor, ice, waste, and a machine that goes down. The bottle needs a facing and a date code. A chain that reports “beverage” up without saying which one moved has not told a buyer anything the store can use.
On a fuel lot the fountain also competes with the time the customer will stand still. If the kitchen and the fountain share one person at 7 a.m., the dispensed program is a labor story. The energy door is not.
This desk will keep the two files apart. A new fountain head is not a new SKU. A new SKU is not a reason to add a head.
